Overview
Citera is an AI-search visibility platform. It tracks the questions your buyers ask, compares how leading AI models answer them, and shows where your brand is mentioned, missing, or misrepresented. The goal is simple: give your team a reliable view of AI search and a prioritized path to improve it.
Connect your brand
Start by adding your company name, domain, market, and closest competitors. Citera uses this context to build a relevant prompt set and distinguish your brand from similarly named companies. Add the language and location your customers use so the first report reflects the market you actually sell into. Use one primary brand, three to five direct competitors, and the market where you currently sell. You can expand coverage later.
Track the right prompts
Prompts are the questions and comparisons people ask AI tools before they visit a website. Citera can generate a starting set, but the strongest tracking combines category questions, problem-aware searches, competitor comparisons, and buying-intent prompts. Focus on the questions that influence a real decision — not vanity mentions.
Understand model coverage
Every model has different sources, retrieval behavior, and update cycles. A strong result in ChatGPT does not guarantee the same answer in Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, or Google AI Overviews. Use the model breakdown to find consistent weaknesses and model-specific opportunities instead of treating AI visibility as one score.
Turn gaps into action
Citera groups opportunities into actions your team can execute: clarify positioning, strengthen key pages, publish missing answers, earn stronger third-party mentions, and correct inconsistent brand facts. Work from the highest-impact opportunity downward and recheck results after each meaningful update.
Share progress
Use reports to explain what changed, where your brand is gaining visibility, and which actions should happen next. A useful report combines movement over time with concrete examples from model answers, so stakeholders can understand both the score and the customer experience behind it.
