TL;DR
Jasper Pro is $69 a month per seat, or $59 annually, with one seat, two Brand Voices and a 7-day trial. Multi-seat and its GEO features — monitoring citation rates, spotting content gaps and generating governed content — require the Business plan: custom pricing, unlimited seats, 12-month minimum. Jasper publishes no engine list, prompt allowance or refresh frequency for that monitoring, so a like-for-like coverage comparison is not possible from public sources. Citera is $219 a month, all AI models, all countries and languages, and it deploys fixes, publishes to your CMS and posts to Reddit, Quora and LinkedIn. Jasper wins on brand voice and editorial governance; Citera wins on measurable AI coverage and distribution.
OUR PRODUCT
Where Citera fits
Citera starts from the measurement and works backwards. All AI models are tracked, every country and language is included on every plan, and each finding maps to an action the platform performs: deploy the fix, write the page, publish it into your CMS, post to the third-party thread that AI is citing instead of you. Content generation exists here but it is a means, not the product — if you need five writers collaborating inside a brand-voice system, Jasper is built for that and Citera is not.
Why this comparison exists
Two things happened at once. Content teams that bought Jasper for volume started getting asked whether their content shows up in AI answers, and Jasper answered by adding GEO features to its enterprise tier. Meanwhile teams evaluating AI visibility platforms noticed Jasper's messaging about content AI will cite and wondered whether one purchase could cover both.
It can, partially, at the top tier. The honest version is that Jasper is a writing platform that added measurement, and Citera is a measurement platform that added writing. Both statements are true and neither is a criticism — they just point at different buyers.
Pricing: what each tier includes
Jasper publishes Pro at $69 a month per seat, or $59 per seat on annual billing, with one seat included, two Brand Voices and a 7-day free trial. Additional users require the Business plan, which is custom priced with unlimited seats and a 12-month minimum commitment.
The GEO and AI optimisation features — monitoring citation rates, identifying content gaps, generating governed content — are Business-plan features. That means the capability you would be comparing to Citera is not available at $69, is not self-serve, and has no published price.
Citera is $219 a month for all AI models with all countries and languages, $399 for the top tier with 200 prompts and five seats, monthly rolling, no minimum term, plus a 90-day money-back guarantee. Jasper’s 7-day trial is longer than Citera’s 3-day one; Citera has the guarantee and they do not.
AI visibility coverage: unknown versus published
This is the sharpest asymmetry on the page. Jasper describes measuring how a brand performs across every major AI answer engine, but its public materials do not list which engines, how many prompts are tracked, how often data refreshes, or what a citation-rate figure is calculated from.
Citera publishes all AI models, with daily customisable refresh and per-prompt reporting. Citera’s weak spot is disclosed just as plainly: prompt-demand volume is an approximation model, not observed conversations.
If you are being asked to justify a spend on AI visibility, you will struggle to build that case from Jasper’s published information alone. Ask their sales team for the engine list, the prompt allowance and the refresh rate in writing before comparing prices.
Content generation: Jasper wins this
Jasper's brand voice system analyses existing content for tone, then enforces tone and formatting rules across everything produced. Jasper IQ turns brand guidelines and personas into reusable AI inputs, and Audiences makes those personas actual generation parameters rather than a PDF nobody opens.
For a team with multiple writers and a brand nobody is allowed to drift from, that is meaningfully better than what Citera offers. Citera’s content generation is built to close a specific visibility gap — an answer Citera is losing, a question nobody has covered — not to run an editorial operation.
If your problem is thirty pieces a month across four writers with consistent voice, buy Jasper.
Publishing and distribution
Jasper integrates with other tools and has an API, and its workflow assumes an editor reviews before anything ships. That is appropriate for a content platform.
Citera publishes directly into WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Wix and Shopify, deploys technical fixes with rollback, and posts to Reddit, Quora and LinkedIn. The third-party posting matters more than teams expect: AI answers frequently cite forum threads and community answers rather than vendor pages, so content that never leaves your domain competes for a smaller share of the citation pool.
Technical AI readiness
Being cited depends on being parseable. Crawler access for AI agents, clean schema, an llms.txt file, page structure that yields a liftable answer.
Citera checks and fixes that layer directly, and publishes schema output and llms.txt support as features. Jasper publishes nothing about technical AI readiness, which is consistent with its scope — it writes, it does not maintain your site. If nobody on your team owns technical SEO, that gap will cap what any writing tool can achieve.

These are not the same category and the shortlist only exists because both mention AI search. Jasper is a content platform with the best brand-voice controls here, priced at $69 per seat; its AI-citation monitoring sits on the Business tier with custom pricing, a 12-month minimum and no published engine list, prompt allowance or refresh rate. Citera is $219 flat, publishes coverage across all AI models, and posts to third-party surfaces. Buy Jasper if the writing is the problem. Buy Citera if being found is.
Jasper solved a real problem before most people had it: producing a lot of content that still sounds like the company that paid for it. Its brand-voice and audience tooling remains the best-executed version of that idea. AI search visibility is a newer addition, framed as governed content that AI will cite, and it lives on the enterprise tier. Citera approaches the same sentence from the other end — measure what engines say, then fix, publish and post until it changes. The comparison is really about which half of the problem you are buying.

Which should you choose

Citera
You need to know what AI engines actually say about you, per engine and per prompt, with numbers you can put in a report. You want the technical fixes deployed and the content published without another person in the loop. You need third-party surfaces worked — Reddit, Quora, LinkedIn — because that is where AI answers source. You are a small team and per-seat pricing does not suit you. You want monthly rolling billing rather than a 12-month commitment for the features you actually came for.

Jasper
Your bottleneck is producing on-brand content at volume, with several writers who need guardrails. Brand voice governance matters more to you than measurement — Jasper's tone, formatting and audience controls are stronger than ours and this is not close. You already have AI visibility measurement elsewhere and need a writing layer that respects it. You have the budget and appetite for a Business-tier contract, and an enterprise procurement process that prefers a late-stage venture-backed vendor to a three-person company.
How we compared
Jasper figures come from its published pricing page as read on 14 August 2026. Where Jasper publishes nothing — engine coverage, prompt allowances, refresh frequency, Business-tier pricing — the cell reads Unknown rather than a guess, and that gap is itself the finding. Citera figures come from Citera’s pricing page the same day. Citera is one of the two products on this page and Jasper leads Citera clearly on brand-voice control and editorial workflow.
