Capabilities and access
Documentation reviewed on 22 October 2026. This is a documentation check, not a test in your connected account. Capabilities, required permissions and plan availability can evolve. Confirm details marked unverified before relying on them.
Current support
Live · store custom app
Read access and data
Products from the connected store. Exact field coverage requires confirmation.
Drafting, publishing and updates
Blog posts and optimized product content. Product optimization: Scale and above. Scheduled blogs follow configured publishing rules.
Permissions and prerequisites
Store access to create/install a custom app. Use the Admin API scopes displayed in Citera’s current setup screen; the exact scope list is not verified here. Legacy token connections and new app credentials have different setup paths.
Plan availability
Product optimization: Scale / Custom. Blog publishing entitlement: confirm.
Limitations
No evidence here establishes checkout, orders, customer records, theme/layout editing, or support for every product field. Disconnecting does not remove written content; revoke the app in Shopify to remove its access.
How it works
Start the connection
Open Shopify in Settings → Integrations and follow the current custom-app setup instructions.
Configure the destination
Install the app for your store, enter the requested credentials in Citera and select the destination blog.
Verify the connection
Confirm Citera validates the store. Review a draft and its destination before enabling publishing; check any authorized product change in Shopify.
Confirm current support
Capabilities, permissions and plan availability can evolve. Check your current integration screen and the documented limitations above before enabling automation.
Put your Shopify content workflow in motion
Based on linked setup documentation, reviewed October 21, 2026. The artwork is illustrative; this page does not present a hands-on store test.
Check scope before connecting
The documentation describes product reads and blog/product-content writes, with product optimization on Scale and above. Confirm your current entitlement and chosen blog in the setup screen. Read the Shopify connection guide.
Keep feed distribution, channel eligibility, theme changes and checkout with their respective owners. Do not interpret a content connection as proof those systems are configured or managed.
Make the first publication an acceptance check
Agree the intended article or product resource, preserve the prior version, review factual claims and verify the public result. Record who approved it, when it went live, and what still needs manual work. Use the approval controls documentation when choosing the operating mode.
Choose the missing capability
Use the guides below to separate traditional SEO, AI-shopping visibility, product implementation and technical checks. Track the commercial result with the AI-shopping measurement worksheet, rather than turning sampled mentions into estimated orders.
Want to scope the workflow against your own catalog? Start for free or book a demonstration. Check current plans; managed content and outreach require their own agreed scope.
