Summary
Citera, then known as Rankad.ai, has taken part in Connect Sverige Region Väst’s company-development network. Following our pitch process, Connect’s May 2026 correspondence welcomed us as an alumnus and described the business as investment-ready through its certification process. For us, the lasting value is the discipline behind that milestone: explaining the customer problem clearly, separating evidence from ambition and making the company’s next steps easier for other people to evaluate.
Our relationship with Connect Sverige
Connect Sverige brings businesses together with experience, advice and networks relevant to company development. Our relationship sits within that Swedish support ecosystem rather than being a technology integration or a commercial reseller arrangement. The correspondence following our pitch explicitly welcomed Rankad into the alumni community. It also used the description investment ready, certified by Connect. We treat that as a specific programme milestone, not a promise that fundraising will succeed or a guarantee of future business performance. That distinction matters because a company can become better prepared without every important uncertainty disappearing. The useful outcome of preparation is a clearer explanation of those uncertainties and a stronger basis for deciding what evidence to gather next.
Why a clearer business case helps customers too
A founder preparing to explain the company to investors is often forced to answer questions that also matter to customers. What problem does the product solve? Why is the existing approach unsatisfactory? What work does the customer still need to do? What evidence suggests the solution is worth continuing to use? At Citera, those questions are closely connected to the product. We want to make organic growth execution more consistent, but that ambition must be expressed in terms a business can evaluate. A description of AI capability is not enough if the customer cannot understand what will happen after connecting their website.
A stronger explanation identifies the workflow, the customer’s role and the boundaries of the outcome. It makes the difference between analysing a problem and carrying out the work explicit. That clarity is useful whether the audience is a business owner, a potential colleague or an investor.
Separating what is true now from what we intend to build
We think a credible company narrative should distinguish three categories: what the product currently does, what the evidence shows and what the team intends to develop. Mixing them makes the story sound stronger in the short term but makes it harder to evaluate honestly. For example, a roadmap for broader automation is not the same as a released capability. A positive customer conversation is not the same as a completed sale. A successful pilot is not proof that the same result will occur for every business without adaptation. The discipline is to make each statement specific enough to test. Which workflow is available? Under what conditions was a result observed? What work remains before a planned capability can be delivered reliably? A clear answer is more useful than replacing those distinctions with a larger market claim.
The evidence behind a useful growth product
For Citera, we want the business case to connect to the work customers receive. That means looking at more than whether a feature is used. We want to understand whether the customer can supply the information the platform needs, whether the intended action completes and whether the work remains useful after the initial setup. An illustrative evaluation might follow a customer from onboarding through its first set of website improvements. Where did the process slow down? Which inputs were missing? What required manual intervention? Did the customer understand the result? Those observations can reveal product priorities that a top-level usage number would miss. Commercial evidence should be interpreted with the same care. A customer continuing after a trial may indicate useful fit, but the team should still understand why they continued and what work they expect next. Retention is more informative when it is connected to the value being delivered rather than treated as an isolated percentage.
Making introductions more useful
A network introduction becomes more valuable when the company can explain the purpose of the conversation. Asking to meet interesting people is different from identifying the expertise needed to resolve a specific question.
Our preferred approach is to describe the business briefly, state the problem we are working through and make the request concrete. That might be feedback on a particular customer segment, experience with an integration decision or an introduction to a company willing to evaluate a defined use case. This also respects the network’s time. The person making an introduction should not need to reconstruct the company’s story, and the recipient should understand why the conversation could be relevant. Good preparation increases the chance that a relationship becomes useful work rather than another contact in a database.
Why investment readiness is not the end of the process
A pitch milestone is a point in the company’s development, not a permanent state of completion. The product changes, the evidence improves and some assumptions turn out to be wrong. A narrative that was accurate several months ago may need revision as the company learns. We therefore want to keep the underlying materials connected to the operating business. Product descriptions should reflect released capabilities. Customer examples should use supported facts and appropriate permission. Financial and commercial statements should remain consistent with the records behind them. For a company building automation, that habit has a useful parallel in the product itself. Both the business narrative and the customer’s website need a process for staying accurate as the underlying facts change.
What the relationship means for Citera
Connect’s network is part of the support around our company development. It provides a context for preparation, feedback and continued relationships, while responsibility for the product and commercial decisions remains with the founders. The benefit we want to carry forward is not a more elaborate pitch. It is a clearer connection between the problem we describe, the work we deliver and the evidence we use to decide what comes next. That is relevant to building a company customers can understand and a product they can evaluate on its actual merits.
Frequently asked questions
What did Connect confirm about Rankad?
Its May 2026 follow-up welcomed Rankad as a Connect alumnus and described the business as investment-ready through Connect’s certification process. This is a company-development milestone, not a funding guarantee.
Does Connect’s involvement mean it invested in Citera?
This article does not make an investment claim. Network participation, programme certification and equity investment are separate relationships.
Why is this relevant to a customer choosing Citera?
The relationship is background context, not a substitute for evaluating the product. Customers should judge Citera by its fit, the work it performs and the clarity of the commercial and operational arrangement.
A business that can explain and improve its work
We value Connect Sverige’s role in the company’s development and the opportunity to remain part of a wider entrepreneurial network. Our focus is to apply that preparation to the everyday work of building Citera: making useful promises, delivering against a clear scope and improving the product as better evidence becomes available.
