Your AI search week, in one brief

Bring your Citera visibility data into a compatible AI tool and turn the past week into a short, useful update. Ask what changed, which competitors gained ground, and which sources deserve a closer look. The brief is created in your AI tool from the data your connection is allowed to read.

1. Connect your workspace

Open Citera Settings → API & MCP → MCP and select Connect another assistant. Add https://mcp.citeralabs.ai/mcp in your AI client, complete browser sign-in and select only the brands you want it to read. API and MCP access are open to all Citera accounts. If your client needs a fixed credential, use the optional manual MCP-key route in the same dialog.

2. Start with a specific question

Select the correct brand first. Use the example prompt below and keep the date ranges explicit. Ask the assistant to show the source data and distinguish a change in visibility from a change in traffic or revenue; those are different measures.

Example prompt

For my selected brand, compare the last 7 days of AI visibility with the previous 7 days. Summarize the biggest changes, compare competitors where data is available, and list the cited sources behind each finding. Separate measured changes from your interpretation. End with three recommended next steps. Do not change or publish anything.

3. Review and share

Review the report’s date ranges, brand, model coverage, and references before sharing. Copy the approved brief into your team workspace or send it through a separately configured workflow. Connecting MCP alone does not schedule reports or send messages to Slack, Notion, or email.

What you can expect

A concise summary of measured movement, the sources supporting it, and suggested next steps. The available detail depends on your tracked prompts, completed scans, retention and approved brand access. If either period has too little data, ask the assistant to say so rather than inventing a comparison.

Permissions and limits

Browser sign-in gives read-only access to the brands you selected. If you use a manual MCP key, keep it limited to the read permissions needed for the workflow. Available tools depend on effective access and the data stored for that brand. Read calls share the account’s API/MCP allowance. This walkthrough does not run a scan, generate platform content or publish changes.
